*The line-up for The 5th Annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, which will hit the Comcast Theatre in Hartford on Sunday, August 5, was announced Wednesday afternoon.

Main Stage artists this summer will include SLIPKNOT, SLAYER, a very special guest to be announced on March 5, and a rotation of AS I LAY DYING, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and ASKING ALEXANDRIA.

ANTHRAX will headline the upgraded Jagermeister Stage, and the festival will also feature The Rockstar Metal Mulisha Jump Team on select dates.

The world’s largest touring heavy music festival will have a 26-date run this summer, beginning June 30 at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, Calif. Presale tickets will be going on sale Friday, April 6, and while the press release is-sued this week did not include ticket prices you can follow updated announcements at www.RockStarMayhemFest.com. In addition, the festival has its own Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/rockstar) and Twitter feed (www.twitter.com/rockstar6969).

*One of 2011’s hottest bands, FLORENCE + THE MACHINE will make what I believe is their Mohegan Sun Arena debut in a few months.

Continuing to celebrate the November release of Ceremonials, Florence + The Machine has launched a 15-city tour and will head to Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, May 11, with special guest Blood Orange.

Tickets are $49.50 and will be on sale Friday, January 27, at 10 am, through TicketMaster (online or call 800-745-3000). Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun box office in Uncasville starting Saturday, January 28, subject to availability.

*A reminder this week (we first talked about this two weeks ago…) that the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford will host a performance on March 16 by BRIT FLOYD, which humbly bills itself “The World’s Greatest Pink Floyd Show.” Celebrating the legacy of Pink Floyd, Brit Floyd’s new show “A Foot In The Door” celebrates the release of the new official PF greatest hits collection of the same name by performing the full album, track by track. The new show, according to press materials, will include a 23-minute rendition of “Echoes,” from Pink Floyd’s 1971 album Meddle.

These tickets will be going on sale on Friday, January 27, through LiveNation.com and TicketMaster, online and by phone (800-745-3000).

*Tickets for a May 4 BILLY CURRINGTON show at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford will also be on sale Friday, January 27, at 10 am.

Prices are $36 and $43.50 for this show, which will also feature opening sets by David Nail and Kip Moore. Tickets will be available through LiveNation.com

*Local smooth jazz duo GOMEZ & SADLON (guitarist Thom Gomez and saxophone/flutist Rick Sadlon ) will return to The Twisted Vine in Derby next weekend, performing from 7:30 to 10:30 pm on Saturday, January 28.
