What Happened To Our 'No-Kill' Shelter?
What Happened To Our
âNo-Killâ Shelter?
To the Editor:
I thought we fought for a new pound and donated all our hard-earned money and time to have a no-kill shelter. Could someone please explain just who voted to change this? I show up for all the voting issues here, and I did not see this one.
Does this mean just our selectman/board got a vote on this? I do not plan to vote for any of these people again, and if it is up to me, I will make sure all the people I know follow suit. How can we trust the so-called powers to be to stick to what the people of Newtown perceived as a no-kill shelter?
The land was donated and we the people raised money to build it and the Canine Advocates fought for everyone to donate and now all of a sudden it is a kill shelter! Bigger, better, more space and nicer for our poor homeless friends and yes now we can kill them! Does this even make sense? Someone please explain democracy to me!
