Top Performance On CMA Exam

MONTVALE, N.J. — The Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA), the certification division of Institute of Management Accountants, announced that Michael L. Mullen of Sandy Hook was the second highest scoring performer on his certified management accountant (CMA) examination for the summer/fall 2010 period. Medals, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, were awarded to Mr Mullen and several other individuals who received the highest exam scores in each period.

“The ICMA Board of Regents congratulates the winners of these awards and celebrates their outstanding performance on the CMA exam,” said Joseph A. Vincent, CMA, ICMA Board of Regents chair. “Early last year, ICMA instituted significant changes to the CMA program – namely, reorganizing the exam from a four-part exam to a two-part one – and the results have been overwhelmingly positive. With its greater emphasis on in-demand skills such as financial planning, analysis, control, and decision support, the CMA program continues to enjoy broad appeal among leading organizations in the United States and around the world.”

Of the approximately 1,200 candidates from around the globe who sat for the exam last fall, Mr Mullen was among just eight individuals recognized for their exceptional achievement.
