Focusing On Flowers

DERBY — Take a break from winter and enjoy a free “Indoor Gardens Tour” at Osborne Homestead Museum.

The public is invited to discover how 18th and 19th Century craftsman used flowers and plants to decorate furnishings and artwork. Learn how people in the Victorian age used flowers to express their feelings.

The beautiful flowers on the Osborne Homestead Museum’s collections of silver, ceramics and textiles should brighten any winter day.

The one-hour program will be offered on Saturday, February 10, at 11 am and again at 2 pm.

To register for the free program, call Kellogg Environmental Center at 203/734-2513. The Kellogg Environmental Center and the Osborne Homestead Museum, operated by DEP’s Office of Communications and Education, are located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue (Route 34).
