James F.        Minnicks
James F. Minnicks, 74, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Mary (Speirs) Minnicks, died January 5 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford.
Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Mr Minnicks had served in the Army Air Corps and was a veteran of World War II. He was a freelance illustrator, and was a member of the New York Illustrators Group and was a senior creative director at Ogilvy and Mather in New York City. He was also a member of the Easton Banjo Club, American Society of Marine Artists, Fairfield Watercolor Group, Society for Creative Arts of Newtown, Rowayton Arts Center, and Silvermine Guild of Artists, where he was also an instructor.
Mr Minnicks was predeceased by his brother, Robert Minnicks, and is survived by his children, Susan Minnicks of San Diego, Calif., John Minnicks of Stratford, and Nancy Christie, of Bedford, N.Y., as well as two granddaughters, Laura and Caroline Christie.
Memorial services were held on January 13, and interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lesko-Miner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street (Route 25), in Monroe.
