Chamber, Rotary Networking Event Going Green

The Newtown Chamber of Commerce and the Newtown Rotary Club will host a joint networking event on Monday, February 1. Along with fostering relationships between both groups, this meeting is used to kick off the Annual Newtown Business of the Year Recognition program.

Phil Clark of Claris Construction will be guest speaker where he will discuss “green” practices in the construction industry. Claris’s most recent accomplishment was the construction of the Newtown Youth Academy building.

Over the next six weeks, nominations for Business of the Year in both the large and small business categories are welcomed from residents and business professionals. The large business category includes businesses with 25 or more employees, while the small business category is for businesses with less than 25 employees.

The winners of both categories will be announced at the Business of the Year Awards Dinner on March 22, at 6 pm, at the Inn at Newtown.

This event is open to Chamber and Rotary members and anyone interested in learning more about these groups. The cost of the event is $25 and includes dinner.

RSVP to Alice Baye at 203-426-2596 by January 29.
