Utility HQ Will âGo Redâ Through Heart Month
BERLIN (AP) â Connecticutâs largest utility operator is bathing the tops of its buildings in red light as part of a national awareness campaign about womenâs heart health.
Northeast Utilities says beacons atop its Berlin and Hartford buildings will glow red through February 24 as part of the American Heart Associationâs âGo Red for Womenâ campaign.
The company started lighting the beacons last week at its downtown Hartford headquarters and the Berlin Turnpike offices of its subsidiary, Connecticut Light & Power.
The âGo Red for Womenâ campaign educates people about the warning signs and symptoms of heart disease. Since 2004, landmarks and attractions including the Empire State Building and Niagara Falls have been lit in red in support of the campaign.
