Brandon Moore: The Opponent Mitch Doesn’t Want
To The Editor:
Democracy is alive and well in Newtown’s Democratic Party. In this year’s race for state representative, we are fortunate to have two exceptionally qualified candidates — both of whom would serve Newtown far better than Mitch Bolinsky, whose votes against reproductive freedom and for expanded access to assault weapons are out of step with Newtown’s values.
Strong campaigns share a few essentials: energy, optimism, a message that resonates, and a candidate who reflects where the community is heading. Brandon Moore embodies all of these qualities.
As someone recently elected to Newtown’s Legislative Council — and who knocked on more doors than any other candidate last fall — I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to earn voters’ trust. Brandon has what it takes to win in November.
His charisma is unmistakable. Candidates who connect with working families, young voters, and longtime residents win general elections — and Brandon does exactly that.
Brandon zeros in on the issues that shape everyday life for working families: lowering energy costs, improving housing affordability, and expanding access to childcare. His priorities are practical and grounded, just like him.
Rather than follow a corporate path, Brandon chose to be a terrorist hunter. He earned a Bronze Star as an attack helicopter pilot fighting the Taliban, then returned home committed to serving Connecticut families. That record of service shapes how he leads and why people trust him. It’s also why leaders including Lt Governor Susan Bysiewicz and Congresswoman Jahana Hayes delivered such powerful remarks at his campaign launch.
No one stands in sharper contrast to Mitch Bolinsky than Brandon Moore — and that may be the highest praise I can offer. Brandon embodies the future of our party and our community: forward‑looking, energetic, and unafraid to challenge the status quo. Newtown deserves leadership that reflects its values and its future.
I am proud to support Brandon Moore for State Representative.
