In the first multi-team tournament of the winter season on Wednesday, January 13, Newtown clearly demonstrated its strength by finishing a close fourth out of 11 competing teams at the recent Jamboree – coming in behind third-place West Haven by a margin of only 13 points. 

With 60 events, Newtown took home a total of 11 first place trophies.

Boys:  C Deveney (eight and under, 25 back), S Toi (9 and 10, 100 individual medley and 50 breast), A Heller (13 and over, 200 individual medley), J Schunter (13 and over, 100 back, 100 free, and 200 free).

Girls: M Hemingway (11 and 12, 100 individual and 50 free), S O’Donnell (11 and 12, 50 back, 100 individual medley).

Much of the team success at this event was attributable to a record number of improved times resulting in point accumulation and top 12 placings.

Improved times were recorded by – Boys: A Fiore, A Kron, P Griffiths, D Curtis, K O Connor, M Hubbard, J Truckle, D Scalfani, P Malloy, S Toi,  C Deveney, K Caruso, M Zaccaro, C Law, A Heller, Z Moliver, J Schunter.
