Gerald S. Lucia

Gerald S. Lucia, 64, of Newtown (formerly of Southport) died suddenly on January 24 at Danbury Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan C. Lucia.

Survivors are a daughter, Deborah Lucia of Stratford, a daughter, son-in-law and grandson, Susan Lucia Harrington, David Harrington, and Joseph Harrington, respectively, all of Newtown, and a son, Gerald S. Lucia, Jr, of Naugatuck; two sisters, Ann Bottone and Maureen Foldeak, both of Norwalk, and two brothers, Neil Mahoney of Staten Island, N.Y., and Richard Mahoney of Norwalk; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by a brother, Robert Mahoney, of Arlington Heights, Ill. He proudly served as Quartermaster First Class in the United States Coast Guard from 1957–1963 aboard the USS Westwind. He retired from O’Neill Enterprises in 2002. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St Rose Church, Church Hill Road, Newtown, on January 27. Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery, Route 25, Newtown.
