How Long In Newtown: This is my 41st year and I've enjoyed it all from raising three children to now having an eighth grade grandson, Kyle, in the same school his mother and father attended.

Biggest Change Youâve Seen In Town: About ten years ago, I counted 60 more houses and several roads that were built from the flagpole up Castle Hill to Great Hill where I live. I couldnât begin to count how many more there are now. We are pretty well set here in Taunton with two-acre zoning, but speeding cars are a problem. Iâm sad to say no more cows from the Luf Farm walk up my driveway.
Â
Family: I have three children, Christine Wagner, Peter Ruffier, and Bonnie Gray. I am very proud to say they are caring people, contributing citizens, and volunteers. Chris is a nurse and she and her husband, Jeff, have three children. Besides their son Kyle, they have two daughters, Adriane, working near Washington, D.C., and Rebecca, attending the University of North Carolina. Peter is Director of Waste Water Treatment in Springfield, Ore., and he has three boys, Michael, Justin and Evan. Bonnie is a high school nutrition and food science teacher.
Â
Pets: I have a 14 pound black and white furry cat named Spanky. Chris has a âSingaporeâ dog that is black and has ears that stand out like a batâs.
Hobbies: I enjoy knitting, reading, and gardening, also traveling.
Â
Favorite Books: First, I must say how great the library is. I listen to more books than I can read. Like everyone else, I have just read the Da Vinci Code. At present I am working with a Bible study group on âRescuing the Bible from Fundamentalismâ by Spong. Iâm in love with words and meanings.
Favorite TV Show: My favorite TV show was Northern Exposure. Nothing much has captured my imagination since.
Â
Organizations: I have worked with the Girl Scouts, and delivered Meals on Wheels. Also, I was a charter manager of the Business and Professional Women. I am on the Altar Guild of Trinity Church, and also a member of the Newtown Womanâs Club (GFWC), Inc. I was co-president in 1998â2000. My mother, Elsa Knight, was once first vice-president of that same group. I did a five-year stint on the Family Selection Committee of the Housatonic Habitat for Humanity and I am a delegate to the Commission on Aging. I am also a member of Church Women United.
Most Vivid Memory About Newtown: It has to be snow related. Many years ago when the Yankee Drover was still there, I came out of a Christmas Eve service at Trinity Church and it had been snowing for a while. Absolutely breathtaking! This last December, Chris, Kyle and I watched the lighting of the tree at the Ram Pasture in the snow. The luminarias are spectacular. We appreciate the efforts of all who are involved in this ceremony.
Personal Philosophy: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you sums it up for me, as well as judge notâ¦
