Wishes Come True
The Newtown Lions Club has made a $1,000 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut.
Make-A-Wish last year granted the wishes of 140 children in Connecticut who have life-threatening medical conditions. The children had such wishes as new puppies, shopping sprees, computers, pianos, celebrity meetings, and trips to Disney World, Hawaii, Grand Canyon, and a western dude ranch.
The foundation offers some comfort and joy to the child and the entire family during an otherwise stressful period in their lives.
Make-A-Wish is entirely funded by donations. Across the state, volunteers are part of a Make-A-Wish team that helps fulfill the wishes of these children.
Anyone who would like to volunteer should contact Make-A-Wish at 261-9044 extension 13.
