Reduced Winter Hours At Weir Farm

WILTON — Weir Farm National Historic Site Visitor Center will continue to operate on its winter schedule through March 31.

The Burlingam House Visitor Center is open Thursday through Sunday from 9:30 am to 4 pm only. Guided tours of the artists’ studios are offered at 11 am and 1 pm on the days the visitor center is open.

The grounds remain open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Weir Farm preserves the summer home and workplace of Julian Alden Weir (1852-1919), a leading figure in American art and the development of American Impressionism. The house, studios, farm buildings and landscape integral to Weir’s artistic vision survive largely intact, making it the finest remaining landscape of American Impressionism.

For over 100 years, the 18th Century farm has been used continuously by artists and remains a haven for contemporary artists. The property straddles land in Ridgefield and Wilton; its main entrance is at 735 Nod Hill Road in Wilton.
