A Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company firefighter sweeps debris between two vehicles following a crash that closed Hawleyville Road for approximately an hour around mid-morning Friday, January 23. Hawleyville VFC, Newtown Police Department, Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and a paramedic all responded to Hawleyville Road/State Route 25 at its intersection with Obtuse Road and Currituck Road following the crash between the 2010 Toyota Highlander on the left and 2025 Ford Expedition on the right. A second ambulance was initially dispatched to the scene, but both drivers were ultimately transported in the same ambulance.
