Brookfield Craft Center Exhibition Feature

One Of The World’s Most Common Materials

BROOKFIELD — A group exhibition, “Bend-Twist-Wrap: Contemporary Work in Wire,” is on view in the Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery at Brookfield Craft Center until March 26.

The show has been curated by noted jewelry artist and teacher Robert Dancik and features works by 13 artists from across the nation.

Wire is one of those ubiquitous materials that everyone comes into contact nearly every day of their lives. Wire is, in fact, so common that it can be overlooked, says the show’s guest curator.

The artists invited to this exhibit have taken this seemingly mundane material and have worked their personal magic to transform wire into objects of expression, utility and adornment.

The participating artists are Lessley Burke, Karen Christians Christine Clark, Donna D’Aquino, Joan Dulla, Micahel Gard, Thomas Hill, Corynn Kasap, Cindey Luna, Ben Neubauer, Amie L. Plante, Christine Quiriy, Lindsay Ketterer Rais, Joy Raskin, Melissa Russell, Elizabeth Schock, Biba Schutz, Ema Tanigaki, Valeri Timofeev, Dina Varano, and Ellen Wieske.

The Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery is within Brookfield Craft Center’s historic mill building, 186 Whisconier Road (Route 25), just east of the four corners intersection with Routes 7 and 202.

Gallery hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
