Next Bird Club Program
SOUTHBURY â The Western Connecticut Bird Club, Inc will present a special program, âBirds, Here and There,â by the photographer Townsend P. Dickinson during its meeting on Tuesday, February 15.
The club will be at Southbury Public Library, 561 Main Street South (Route 6). The meeting will begin with socializing and refreshments at 6:30; Mr Dickinsonâs program will start at 7.
Mr Dickinson has been a photographer specializing natural history photography for 28 years. His works have been widely published in hundreds of books, magazines, commercial products, and on TV.
Mr Dickinson is now working on several long-term photography projects, one of which involves a photo study of neotropic migrant birds. His work is significant in that he has followed the migratory path of songbirds, especially wood warblers, back to their natural wintering areas to document their lives when they are no longer âour birds, but someone elseâs birds for six to eight months,â as he puts it.
The meeting and program are free and open to the public. For more information call 426-3901 or 860-354-8417.
