NEW YORK CITY — The Grolier Club of New York will present “Facing the Late Victorians: Portraits of Writers and Artists from the Mark Samuels Lasner Collection,” on view February 20–April 26 in the ground floor gallery.

The exhibition is being curated by Margaret D. Stetz. British poets, painters, novelists, playwrights and illustrators of the Nineteenth Century are illuminated through portraits made during their lifetimes, as well as through their works. Included are photographs, paintings, drawings and caricatures of (or by) such noted figures as Beerbohm, Kipling, Rothenstein, Whistler, Rossetti, Burne-Jones, George Elliot, Ellen Terry and Queen Victoria, among others.
