Community Service Coordinator

Named For Senior Care Agency

Sharon Massafra, president of Sandy Hook-based Home Instead Senior Care, recently announced that Leigh Schultz of Southbury has been named to the position to create and fulfill community relations opportunities for the franchise that serves seniors and their families in 33 towns throughout northern Fairfield, southern Litchfield, and northwest New Haven Counties.

Home Instead Senior Care is a network of independently owned and operated senior care franchises worldwide. Each local area office employs professional staff members and caregivers who assist older adults with everyday tasks including personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, laundry and light housekeeping, escort for shopping and errands, and respite care.

Ms Schultz brings 19 years experience in the retirement arena with a special emphasis on marketing and special events. Formerly, she was director of marketing with Laurel Gardens in Woodbridge; social director with Thirty-Thirty Park Continuing Care Retirement Community in Bridgeport; and recreation supervisor with Shelton Lakes Residence and Health Care Center in Shelton.

Since 2007, Ms Schultz has provided volunteer support to the United Church of Christ in Southbury as a Sunday school teacher and on the board of Christian education. She has also served as a member of the PTO and media center volunteer with Gainfield Elementary School in Southbury since 2007.
