WOODBURY â On Sunday, February 21, area women will have the opportunity to reinvent themselves at a makeover event entitled âExperience Good News for Womenâ that will transform wardrobes, and introduce stylish new dos and makeup applications, while imparting the secret of how to incorporate health and wellness from within to create outward beauty. The ultimate goal of the enhancement, say event producers, is to inspire confidence in how women perform in their daily lives.
The event, which will run from 1:30 to 4 pm, will be held at The Good News Café, 684 Main Street (Route 6).
Admission is $55 per person and includes wine, an assortment of Signature Specialty hors dâoeuvres prepared by Good News Café owner and renowned Chef Carole Peck, and automatic entry in a raffle.
In addition to bettering themselves, participants can take heart in knowing that more than 50 percent of the eventâs proceeds will benefit Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury.
A team of makeup artists from Viso Bello Day Spa & Massage Therapy Center will premiere their cutting edge new looks for 2010 to achieve the Total Look that works for women. Spa owner Dan Settani will discuss the importance of caring for your inner core and how it affects your outer beauty.
Demonstrating visually on women from the community who have volunteered as models â each model bringing to the fitting a piece of clothing that they are challenged with â fashion stylist and author Andrea Ward will innovate a modern image (coordinating cutting edge new clothes by New York and European designers) that will create a great fizz for the 2010 season.
Ms Ward is the author of Strut in Signature Style/Reinvent Your Wardrobe, rated a Top 10 Read by NBCâs iVillage.com for expertise in style. She has been featured in Connecticut Magazine, on WFSBâs Better Connecticut and on WNPR.
Dr Mathew Weinstein of Corebella Health, with Sharon de Escobar, RN, will speak on âPreventive Medicine and Anti-Aging, and Traditional Chinese Medicine,â on behalf of leading naturopathic physician Dr Marcos de Escobar. Dr de Escobar is owner and creator of Corebella Health, a comprehensive and alternative medicine clinic in Waterbury. He uses his unique naturopathic perspective to treat everything from obesity and hormone imbalances to chronic pain.
Radio talk show host and theater personality Barbara Davitt of WATR-1320 AM will serve as emcee for the show.
