NHS Swimmers Edge Weston 95-91

Newtown High School’s boys’ swimming and diving team outlasted a tough Weston High squad for a 95-91 win at home on Tuesday.

In a battle of teams with only two defeats, the Nighthawks improved to 7-2 heading into the regular-season finale at home against New Milford, scheduled for Friday, February 12 at 7 pm.

Newtown’s top results from the Weston meet are as follows:

200-yard freestyle relay: First, Luke Fiore, Kyle O’Connor, Dan Hufziger and Abben Hung, 1:33.69.

100 breaststroke: Second, Hung, 1:05.59.

400 free relay: Second, George Delia, O’Connor, Conor Donnelly and Nick Lafky, 3:40.97.
