Ruth H. (Chapin) Eaton, 63, of Newtown, died February 7, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. The daughter of Audrey (Hadden) and Arthur Chapin, she was born in Bridgeport, September 14, 1946, one of seven children. Mrs Eaton was preceded in death by her loving husband, John “Jack” Edward Eaton, on March 17, 2001.

Prior to illness, Mrs Eaton was a paralegal and notary throughout Fairfield County for more than 20 years. Her hobbies included art, gardening, cooking, and photography.

She is survived by her two sons, Shane D. Eaton and his wife, Sonia, of Bethel and Chad J. Eaton and his wife, Kristen, of West Haven; three grandchildren; four brothers; two sisters; and many other extended family members and loyal friends.

At Mrs Eaton’s request there will be no funeral services. A family gathering will be held at a future date to celebrate her life and memory.
