Police Reports, February 1-10, 2015
Flagpole Intersection
A two-vehicle accident occurred at the flagpole intersection of Main Street, Church Hill Road, and West Street about 4:18 pm on February 6.
Police said motorist Monica Tedla, 21, of 6 Abbey Lane was driving a 2012 Honda Accord sedan westward on Church Hill Road, as motorist Robert McNamara, 68, of Danbury was driving a 2012 Acura MDX SUV northward on Main Street.
The Honda did not grant the right of way at the intersection, after which the Honda and Acura collided, police said.
There were no injuries. Tedla received an infraction for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign, police said. McNamara received an infraction for driving without a license, according to police.

Parmalee Hill Road
Police report a two-vehicle accident on Parmalee Hill Road near its intersection with Daniels Hill Road about 4 pm on February 3.
Motorist Joanna Tzakas, 40, of 70 Parmalee Hill Road, who was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV northward on Parmalee Hill Road, backed up to allow a vehicle to pass the Chevrolet in the southbound lane, police said.
But in backing up, the Chevrolet struck the front end of a northbound 2014 Honda Civic sedan driven by motorist Alexa Foldy, 22, of Brookfield, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Tzakas an infraction for unsafe backing.

Dodgingtown Crash
Motorist Jaclyn Krikorian, 43, of 9 Jangling Plains Road was driving a 2007 Audi Q-7 SUV westward on Flat Swamp Road about 8 am on February 5, and then made a right turn onto Cemetery Road, but the Audi then went out of control and skidded, striking a snow bank and a stop sign, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Krikorian for traveling too fast for conditions.
Boggs Hill Accident
A one-vehicle accident occurred on Boggs Hill Road, near its intersection with Mt Nebo Road, about 4:47 am, on February 5, police said.
Police said motorist Sarah Hart, 22, of 44 Hundred Acres Road was driving a 2008 Volvo V-70 station wagon on Boggs Hill Road, when the vehicle knocked over a curbside residential mailbox and then landed in a snow bank.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Hart a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.

Larceny Case
Police report they executed warrants against two Sandy Hook siblings on February 3.
Police said they charged William Mantz, 28, of 68 Jeremiah Road with sixth-degree larceny and with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Police said they charged Katie Mantz, 25, of the same address, with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.
Police said the charges stem from a July 4, 2014, incident at the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street involving the alleged theft of some Red Bull-brand energy drink.
Each person was released on $500 bail for February 18 court appearances, police said.

Utility Pole
Police report that motorist Shan Kurkcu, 22, of 2 Galilee Way was driving a 1998 Honda Accord coupe southward on Boggs Hill Road near its intersection with Bentagrass Lane at about 10 am on February 2 during a snow storm, when the auto went out of control and slid across the snowy road, striking a utility pole.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Kurkcu for traveling too fast for conditions.

Credit Card Theft
Police report they responded to a dispute between a mother and a child at a Honey Lane area residence on the night of February 9.
Police said they investigated and charged the youth with theft of a credit card. The youth is scheduled to appear in Danbury Juvenile Court on the charge, police said. Police did not disclose the identity of the youth, who is under age 18.

Mt Pleasant Road
Police have provided details on an accident that occurred about 7:16 am on February 4 at the intersection of Mt Pleasant Road and Mt Pleasant Terrace.
Police said motorist Martin Basso, 23, of 21 Taunton Lake Drive, who was driving a 2006 Saab 9-3 sedan northward on Mt Pleasant Terrace, stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Mt Pleasant Terrace and Mt Pleasant Road, as motorist Jennifer Duran, 18, of Danbury was driving a 2010 Honda Accord sedan eastward on Mt Pleasant Road.
The Saab then entered the intersection of the two roads, resulting in a collision, police said.
Danbury Ambulance transported both drivers to Danbury Hospital, police said. Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the accident.
Police said they issued Basso an infraction for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign.

Toyota Off Road
Police report that due to bad weather conditions, motorist Donald Godbout, 47, of 26 Bradley Lane, who was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry sedan near the intersection of High Rock Road and New Lebbon Road about 12:20 am on February 2, lost control of the auto, went off the road, entered a ditch and struck a large rock.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Godbout a written warning for making a restricted turn.

Church Hill/Queen
A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Queen Street about 4 pm on February 4.
Police said motorist Gertrude Longi, 86, of Morris was driving a 2003 Hyundai Elantra sedan westward on Church Hill Road behind westbound motorist Anne Kutka, 75, of 22 Sugar Street, who was driving a 2008 Toyota Prius.
Both motorists were planning to make left turns onto southbound Queen Street, when the Hyundai struck the rear end of the Toyota, police said.
Kutka received an injury in the accident, police said. Longi was verbally warned for following too closely, police said.

Three Vehicles
A three-vehicle chain reaction accident occurred on Berkshire Road near its intersection with Wasserman Way about 3:19 pm on February 3, police said.
All three vehicles were traveling eastward when the accident occurred.
In the incident, motorist Sally Lillis, 59, of Terryville, who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV, struck the rear end of a 1998 Dodge 1500 pickup truck driven by Paul P. Kusheba IV, 19, of Monroe, police said.
That impact pushed the Dodge into the rear end of a 2006 Volkswagen Touareg SUV driven by Gordon Dooley, 61 of Waterbury, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Lillis for following too closely.

Church Hill Road
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Church Hill Road and The Boulevard about 5:18 pm on February 1.
Motorist John Barnum, 53, of 27 Hanover Road, who was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima eastward on Church Hill Road, stopped while preparing to make a left turn onto The Boulevard and was then struck from behind by eastbound motorist Nicholas Bourgeois, 17, of 18 Cemetery Road, who was driving a 2009 Acura MDX SUV, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Bourgeois a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Sandy Hook Collision
A two-vehicle accident occurred about 3 pm on February 5 at the intersection of Bresson Farm Road and Founders Lane.
The collision involved motorist Irene Vendinha, 72, of Danbury, who was driving a 2000 Honda Accord sedan, and motorist Luis Aguirre, 18, of 4 Cider Mill Road, who was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty SUV, police said.
There were no injuries. Vendinha received a written warning for failure to grant the right of way at an intersection, police said.

Criminal Charges
Police report they learned midday on February 10 that Maximilian Rojo, 27, of Danbury had been involved in a motor vehicle accident in that city.
After that accident, Danbury police had called Newtown police to confirm whether Newtown police held a pending arrest warrant against Rojo, which they did, so Newtown police went to Danbury to get Rojo.
Danbury police gave Rojo a verbal warning in connection with the accident. Newtown police then transported Rojo to the Newtown police station where they charged him with fifth-degree larceny, second-degree criminal trespassing, and third-degree criminal mischief in connection with an incident in Newtown last September 12.
In that incident, Rojo allegedly broke into a storage shed and stole some power equipment, Newtown police said.
Police said that after processing, Rojo was released on $1,000 bail for an arraignment on February 19 in Danbury Superior Court.

Warrant
Police report that they arrested Kyle Demo, 23, of Danbury on a warrant at Danbury Superior Court on February 10.
Police said they charged Demo with third-degree larceny and fifth-degree larceny in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle and its contents on August 15, 2012.
Demo was arraigned in court on the charges, according to police. He pleaded not guilty to both charges. He is scheduled to return to court on March 10.
Demo is serving a six-year prison sentence at Corrigan Correctional Center in Uncasville on a conviction for illegal drug sales.
