On February 6, Newtown Community Center sponsored its annual Sweetheart Ball for 100 registered couples. Lots of young ladies and their “dates” attended the event. The girls and their dates were decked out in their finest party outfits, bedazzled with sequins, faux furs, tiaras, glittery shoes, and elegant jewelry. There were thank-you gifts for each of the young ladies, as well as light refreshments and Valentine’s-themed crafts.

The event was a rocking success, with DJ Austin Daily from Red Supreme Productions playing everyone’s favorite dance tunes, complete with a dazzling light show. He also gave “on the floor dance lessons” to the guests as he moved through the audience with music blasting, Valentine’s Day jewelry glittering, and balloons bouncing around the dancers. The guests danced with their dates and with each other nonstop on the makeshift dance floor.

Many attendees wore their best gowns and accessories for the occassion.
