HARTFORD, CONN. — On Sunday, March 9, at 2:30 pm, Arthur Liverant will deliver a talk titled “Little Chairs for Little Buns.”  Arthur Liverant is the third generation to own and operate Nathan Liverant and Son Antiques.  Established in Colchester, Conn., in 1920, Nathan Liverant and Son represents three generations in the fine arts field.  The shop maintains a large and varied inventory of fine Americana and continues to acquire some the finest examples of New England regional furniture, paintings and related accessories of the Seventeenth to Nineteenth Centuries.

He has lectured in many venues including historical societies, antiques shows and in his shop. Most recently he spoke about children’s chairs at the Wallingford Historical Society and “Something Connecticut” at the Fall Hartford show last year.  He has also been featured in articles in The New England Antiques Journal and most recently in the Hartford Courant surrounded by children’s chairs.

Liverant has created fine collections for individuals and national museums.  In 2006, he participated in an exhibition of John Brewster portraits that traveled up and down the East Coast with a brief stop at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Conn., and in 2001, exhibited in The Paintings of John J. Enneking at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art in Ogunquit, Maine. 

He serves on the Board of Directors for the Antique Dealers Association of America and the Board of Directors at the Colchester Historic Society.  He is also a member of the Antiques Council and is on the Bacon Academy Board of Trustees.  He has been featured on the Antiques Road Show.
