In that accident, Frank Clark, Jr, 58, of Grahamsville, N.Y., who was driving a 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer truck, was in the left lane of the exit driveway and was attempting to make a right turn to enter southbound South Main Street, police report.

At the same time, motorist Frances Baldwin, 70, of 29 Copper Creek Circle, who was driving a 2003 Audi A-6 sedan, was in the right lane of the exit driveway and was also attempting to make a right turn to enter southbound South Main Street, police said.

The right-middle section of the trailer on the tractor-trailer truck then hit the left side of the Audi, causing the Audi to drive over some curbing, police said.

There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.

Church Hill Road

About 4:19 pm on February 9, motorist Jacob Browning, 18, of 3 Cold Spring Road was driving a 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck eastward near 26 Church Hill Road, police said.

At that time, motorist Elizabeth Gerry, 19, of Southbury, who was driving a 1995 Saturn SL-1 sedan, was attempting to exit the driveway at 26 Church Hill Road, police said.

As the Saturn exited the driveway, the Saturn and the Chevrolet collided, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Gerry for failure to grant the right of way.

Following that collision, as police were parked at the scene of the accident to investigate it, motorist Barbara Ray, 72, of Southbury, who was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, struck a parked 2009 Ford Crown Victoria police car driven by Officer Liam Seabrook, 25, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Ray an infraction for making a restricted turn.

Williams Lane

Police said they received a report of suspicious activity concerning a vehicle that was parked with its lights off on the Williams Lane turnaround circle at about 9:14 pm February 11, so they went there to investigate.

Williams Lane is a short dead-end street extending westward off Poverty Hollow Road.

On investigating, police charged a youth under age 18 with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of tobacco in a public place.

State law shields the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes. After processing, police released the youth on a written promise to appear for a February 22 court appearance.

Arrest Warrant

Police said at about 7 pm on February 12, they received a complaint concerning the presence of a suspicious vehicle on the Middle Gate School grounds on Cold Spring Road in Botsford, so they went there to investigate.

During that investigation, police learned that a youth whom they found there was wanted in connection with an incident that had occurred in March 2009 at Newtown High School.

Police said they arrested that youth on a charge of criminal attempt to commit third-degree burglary. The youth had allegedly attempted to illegally enter the parked vehicle of a staff member at the high school, police said.

Because the person charged is under age 18, their identity is shielded by state law. Police said they released the youth on a written promise to appear in court on February 22.

Mead told police that he braked and the Dodge then began to slide on the road. Prah told police that he turned the Volvo to the right to avoid a collision with the Dodge, but the plow then struck a curbside mailbox.

The Dodge then struck the plow that was attached to the front end of the Volvo truck, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Mead a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.
