Third Performance Planned For Irish Trio
Third Performance
Planned For Irish Trio
Sliabh Notes, one of todayâs top bands from the southwestern Irish region of Sliabh Luachra, will return for a third time to Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street, at 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 4, for a concert presented by Fairfield Countyâs own Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society.
Combining the talents of fiddler Matt Cranitch, button accordion player Dónal Murphy, and singer-guitarist Tommy OâSullivan, Sliabh Notes (pronounced âShleeve Notesâ) offers a unique mixture of swift, pulsating dance tunes, emotive slow airs, and Mr OâSullivanâs blues-influenced, yet uncompromisingly Irish, vocals. Although their focus is on the distinctive music of their region, the three members of Sliabh Notes have been energizing audiences around Ireland and the world for more than ten years.
Several of the trioâs previous Newtown concerts have sold out, so early reservations are recommended. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children.
For reservations call 203-256-8453 or send email to TMQuinn@optonline.net.
