The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard (2GHG) presented a panel discussion on the production of the history book The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard 1808–2008 at the Cyrenius H. Booth Library on February 12.

State Representatives DebraLee Hovey and Christopher Lyddy and Newtown First Selectman Joe Borst were among the attendees.

Book Committee members who participated in the presentation were Second Lieutenant Cindy Joyce, Sergeant Flavio Rosa, and Sergeant Becky Ward. Book Committee members Sergeant Lauren Chirgwin and Private First Class Terry Burke were also present, as were 2GHG Commandant Major Gordon Johnson and Captain Pamela Berlekovic.

During the presentation, First Sergeant Paul Mazzara explained his design for the 2GHG 200th Anniversary Medal; and Major Gordon McNeil (retired) — a 35-year member — added some historical notes.

Book designer JoAnn Jiminez of J&M Graphic Design described the process of selecting a design for the book, and how images were prepared for the printer.

2GHG members thank the Booth Library and the community for their support.
