The Music Of Hollywood, On Stage

DANBURY — Just in time for Oscar season comes A Night At The Oscars, an original musical revue featuring songs, skits and memories from some of Hollywood’s favorite movies. Stage Door Productions has gathered a cast of local performers to present the show at the Portuguese Cultural Center, 65 Sand Pit Road.

Relive scenes from such classics as Casablanca, a tip of the hat to such greats as the Marx Brothers, Bob and Bing, and of course, Marilyn. There are numbers from Broadway hits that became movie classics such as Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof, and Hair, as well as movie classics that became Broadway hits such as Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, and many more.

A Night at the Oscars, presented by Stage Door Productions, promises a fun-filled evening of entertainment and delicious cuisine in a dinner-theatre atmosphere.

Performances are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays, February 27-28 and March 6-7, and Sundays, March 1 and 8. For Friday and Saturday evenings, dinner will be served at 6:30 (doors open 6:15), with the show at 8, and for Sunday afternoons, lunch will be at 12:30 (doors at 12:15), and the show will start at 2.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for ages 12 and under. There will be a cash bar for all performances.

Reservations are requested, with a credit card to hold each party’s order. Tickets are to be picked up at the door the day of each performance, to be paid by cash or check only. Credit cards will be charged for no-show reservations.

Seating is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
