Occupation: I’m president of Sibley Smart Copy, LLC, a content marketing firm. I do all kinds of copyediting and am a content generator for many companies. It is pretty much anything and everything that can be written for content web or print marketing purposes.

Family: I’ve been married to Rob for almost 17 years. We have three children. Daniel is 10 years old, and we have twins, Stephen and Brian, who are 6 years old.

Pets: We have our dog, Toby, a golden doodle we have owned for a year. We also have two cats, Roxy and Yogurt, and we have a hermit crab, Herman.

How long have you lived here? Rob and I moved to Sandy Hook in 1999 and have been here ever since.

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy folding laundry, finding Lego pieces, and refining my Pokeman battle strategy. Occasionally, I will go for a walk. I volunteer in the boys’ classrooms at Sandy Hook Elementary every week, and do the Valentines For Troops program there. I do love to read, and when Rob and I have some down time together, we like to play the Lord of the Rings Risk board game. It’s this great epic battle of good vs evil. When we don’t have it in us to do an epic battle, we’ll play Scrabble.

Do you have a favorite book? My favorite books of all time are Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, and Song of Ice and Fire by George R. Martin. I’ll read pretty much anything by George R. Martin, Barbara Kingsolver, or Khaled Hosseini.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? We have three places that we love. Last summer, we went to family camp with our church, United Methodist of Newtown, on Shelter Island, off the tip of Long Island. We had a great time. For the past six years, we’ve gone to Ocean City, N.J., for a week in the summer, and we also go camping with good friends to Tolland State Park in Massachusetts, and have a blast. That’s becoming an annual thing.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I love the friends we’ve made here. But I think, for me, it’s all the “wild” places you can find. I’m still discovering new places around Newtown that I love — a quiet place to think or new neighborhoods I never knew existed. It’s like unearthing a gem. Places like Orchard Nature Preserve or Al’s Trail, there’s always someplace new to discover. You can get away from it all, right in your own town.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? I would have to say my mom. She passed away in September. She infused in me a belief I can do anything I want to do. “If I can dream it, I can do it” sort of vibe. To give anything less than my best is to waste the gifts God has given each of us. She taught me to do things with joy and gusto, and do the best I can.

Do you have a personal philosophy? We have a sign in our kitchen that reads, “We may not have it altogether, but together, we have it all.” It is my personal and our family philosophy. Just take a deep breath, try to laugh at the things that make you crazy, and love the people around you for exactly who they are.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? I have two. One is Nutella, my “go to” food group. My second is a manicure at Nina Nails.
