GBBR Announces Debut Of Ten-Town Area Directory

The Greater Bridgeport Board of Realtors (GBBR) has announced the debut of its 2008-09 Welcome To The Greater Bridgeport Area Guide, a resource for new people and home buyers coming into the GBBR area.

The guide is geared toward agents and home buyers to introduce the services and area profiles of the GBBR’s ten-town membership. Areas serviced include Newtown, Trumbull, Monroe, Easton, Fairfield, Stratford, Bridgeport, Milford, Oxford, and Shelton. Collectively, the area consists of more than 5,000 realtors and relocation professionals who will use and distribute more than 15,000 of the guides to their targeted home buying market.

According to Sandra Ives, project manager of the guide, “These directories have become a valuable resource for new home buyers coming into the community. With any move comes the uncertainty of selecting reputable vendors and professionals who these new residents can turn to as they move in and establish their roots.”

According to national statistics, homeowners who have recently moved into a new location will spend ten times more money the first year than in the subsequent years following the move-in, but have no preexisting buying habits or relationships with local professionals or service providers in the local retail community.

The GBBR is seeking retailers, vendors, and other home professionals to participate in the guide that will be seen by more than 60,000 realtors, home buyers, and relocation professionals in the market area.

To participate in the 2008-09 guide, call Sandra Ives at 203-384-6120 or Priscilla Weadon at 203-226-0265 for details. The guide is slated to be published in the spring.
