For Upcoming Musical Production
Newtown Middle School students have been continuing to prepare for the upcoming musical production of The Music Man, scheduled for performances at the school on March 5 through 7.
The Music Man is a musical about a con man named Harold Hill, who goes from town to town selling band instruments and uniforms before leaving town with the money and not delivering the orders. Conflict begins when Harold meets a librarian named Marian, who discovers his secret.
The curtain rises Friday, March 5, at 7 pm. On Saturday, March 6, the show opens at 7 pm, and the Sunday, March 22, show is at 2 pm.
Adult tickets for the show cost $13 and student tickets cost $10 each. All seating is general admission.
Local Senior Citizens Invited
The Newtown Middle School PTA and Newtown High School PTSA are inviting local senior citizens to attend Tea & Theater, a free for seniors event, for both The Music Man, and Newtown High Schoolâs upcoming production of Gypsy.
The Music Man will be held at the middle school Thursday, March 4 at 2:15 pm, and Gypsy will be presented at the high school Wednesday, March 10 at 5:30 pm.
Sandwiches, desserts, and tea will be provided for the events.
