Passionist Mission

At St Rose March 6–10

St Rose of Lima in Newtown will be host to Father Kenen Peters, CP, for a Lenten Mission to run March 6–10. The theme of the mission is “Our Journey to God.”

Father Kenen will be preaching at the weekend Masses on Saturday and Sunday, March 6 and 7, as well as the 9 am weekday Mass while here and each evening there will be a prayer service at 7. Sunday evening will be a Teen Night for high school students.

The Mission Themes for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are “Living Where God Is: The Present,” “Our Journey as One of Deepening Awareness of God, Life and Ourselves,” and “Our Need for Affirmation on Our Journey.”

Father Kenan will be available for the Sacrament of Penance after every prayer service and also between 4 and 5 pm in the afternoons.

Father Kenen, from Richmond Hill, N.Y., was ordained to the Passionist Priesthood in 1960 in Union City, N.J. He served as parish priest in two parishes and in a retreat house in the metro area for ten years and has been an active missionary, giving parish missions or retreats throughout Eastern and Central United States for the past 32 years.
