Bee Picks Up NENPA Awards

The Newtown Bee was honored by the New England Newspaper & Press Association (NENPA) last weekend for editorial and advertising work done during the period of August 1, 2014, to July 31, 2015. The honors were announced during the annual NENPA New England Newspaper Contention, held February 19-20 in Boston.

The newspaper picked up first place, Best Illustration, for Ross MacDonald's 2014 Christmas cover, a black and white view of the Main Street flagpole, with the flag offering the one bit of color on that week's cover.

For advertising,

The Bee received first place honors for Multimedia Campaign For An Advertiser and Local Display Ad (Black & White); second place honors for Classified Advertising - Automotive Display Ad and Special Advertising: Best Idea For Generating Ad Revenue; and third place honor for Advertising Supplement/Special Section, for Brides 2015.

In addition, the newspaper's

editor, Curtiss Clark, was inducted into the New England Newspaper Hall Of Fame.
