St Valentine’s Project Recognition

To the Editor:

On Friday, February 27, at 3 pm, Newtown students will have the honor to receive a citation from Representatives DebraLee Hovey and Christopher Lyddy and Senator John McKinney. This is in recognition of all our efforts to send cheer and happiness to our men and women in uniform serving overseas for St Valentine’s Day.

Over 2,500 letters were sent out from Newtown students at Sandy Hook, Reed, Middle School Student Council and Interact, Middle Gate RRD, and ten scout troops! All over town, we are receiving emails and letters of “thanks” back from our military valentines stationed in Afghanistan, Iraq, England, Kuwait, and at sea.

Please come join us at the Reed Cafeteria on Friday, February 27, at 3 pm. Everyone is welcomed to share in this celebration! We have a wonderful program organized that I know everyone will enjoy. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at ndrandle@charter.net
