Charges Follow Accident

Police said that they learned on March 3 of a two-vehicle that had occurred on Toddy Hill Road. After investigating the crash, police charged motorist Nicole Tardiff, 20, of 43-A Botsford Hill Road with driving under suspension and with following too closely. Police said Tardiff is slated to appear March 17 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.

Chain Reaction

A three-vehicle chain reaction accident occurred on southbound South Main Street, south of its intersection with Greenbriar Lane, about 7 am February 27, police report.

Motorist Manuel Pascual, 44, of Danbury, who was driving a 1989 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, stopped and was waiting to make a left turn into a commercial driveway, police said. Motorist Samuel Cousins, 50, of Sherman, who was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Passat sedan, then stopped behind the Dodge, police said.

Motorist Thomas Schimenti, 19, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2002 Jeep Wrangler sport-utility vehicle, failed to realize that the two vehicles ahead of him had stopped, police said.

The Jeep drove into the rear end of the Volkswagen, pushing the Volkswagen into the rear end of the Dodge. There were no injuries. Police gave Schimenti an infraction ticket for following too closely.
