Overspending Doesn’t Cease

On Its Own

To the Editor:

Martin B. Margulies, your deck has a few cards missing and help is on the way. Nobody in Newtown is against support for our children and nobody in Newtown should be against senior support.

You are one of 25,000 people in Newtown (thank God), who would strive to divide instead of a coming together with your mindless statements. The past referendums proved there are other people including some seniors who voted No to the proposed budgets. When a budget goes down nobody is reducing school services. In my 27 years in Newtown it never happed. The proposed increases which are offensive are reduced when the budgets go down.

The town continues to overspend and should get closer to the times. We are a republic whereby democracy allows us to vote on issues and speak our minds. I do not appreciate creeping socialism where the state cares for us from the cradle to the grave. All tax money should be for the good of all, not a selected few. Accountability should be mirrored to all.

As per the end of your letter dated February 21, 2004, hopefully you will not be dead for the next referendum and your mind doesn’t fade.
