‘The Frog Prince’ Hops To Edmond Town Hall

Fraser-Woods Montessori School, in conjunction with the Connecticut Commission on Arts, Associated Refuse, D’Addario Industries, PC Metals, AlphaGraphics, and Fraser-Woods’ Parent Association, will present the Missoula Children’s Theater’s rendition of The Frog Prince on Saturday, March 6, at 3 and 7 pm at Edmond Town Hall.

The Frog Prince, originally a Brothers Grimm fairytale, tells the story of a princess who promises to befriend a lonely frog if he is able to retrieve her golden ball from a well. But after the ball is recovered, the princess tries to escape her part of the bargain.

The Missoula Children’s Theater is the nation’s largest touring children’s theater. The 30-year-old group will visit more than 900 communities this year with 29 teams of actors and directors. After arriving in a given town with a set, lights, costumes, props, and makeup, the directors hold an open audition, casting 50 to 60 local children to perform in the production.

Following a week of rehearsals, the show is presented to the public.

The local cast includes Thomas and Alexandra Saboe as the Frog and Kelsey Hopper as Princess Prim. Rebecca Reed and Izzy Nance will play her sisters, Princess Proper and Princess Peppy. Thomas Healy, Cole Baldino, Justin Waltzer, Dana Whaley, Julian and Ian Gingell, and Cate Staack will portray the bumbling knights.

Nadine DeLoughy is featured as Bertha the Alligator and Andrew Avram, Lauren Benedetto, Brian Keller, Austin Adamcheck, Chloe Janesky, Phillip Healy, Haley Delmolino, Samantha Lindy, Nicole Small, Parker Delmolino, Omar El-Fanek, Veronica McStocker, and Daniel Sbriglio will make up the kindly, yet slimy, Swamp Things. The helpful, flashy Flamingos are Siena D’Addario, Niki Haghpanah, Morgan Hopper, Lydia Post, Savannah Rhodes-Podryski, Genny Goerge, and Clara Whaley.

A’ine Duffy, Tess Baldino, Kaitlin Hickey, Brooke Richards, Rachell Hartgens lead the way as the Ducks. Hayley Keller will be the Fly; Josh Becker, Sadie Edwards, Lydia Field, Chris Healy, Tucker Kistner, Leah Nashel, Nina Rhyins, Anthony Adamcheck, Kate McDonald, Megan Hickey, Leah Hartgens, Sarah Marcus, Christina Cistulli, Samantha Westberg, Cole Rogalin, Brittney Antous, Nathyn Horvath, and Rory Staack will portray the nasty Venus Fly Traps.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased ahead or at the door. To purchase tickets, or for more information, call Fraser Woods arts coordinator Aileen Hopper at 426-3390, ext 313.
