Francis J. Fortin, Jr, 38, of Newtown, died February 26. He was born in Derby, June 24, 1970, a son of Francis J. Fortin of Seymour and Viola (Root) Fortin of Newtown.

Mr Fortin grew up in Oxford and was a carpenter in the construction trade. He loved fishing, boating, and all outdoor activities.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his daughter, Angel Predzimirski; a grandson; two sisters; and several other relatives, all of Seymour.

 A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 2. Interment followed in Southford Cemetery, Oxford.
