Visit Ireland Without Having To Pack A Suitcase

SOUTHBURY — Bob and Marian McIlvin will present a slide show on “Ireland, The Enchanting Emerald Isle” on Tuesday, March 14, at 2 pm, at East Hill Woods, 611 East Hill Road. The couple lives at Elim Park in Cheshire, where many of their efforts are showcased.

Before the slide show begins, they will hand out brightly colored flyers that highlight the programs. The slide shows the McIlvins present are a professional production; the couple uses specialized equipment and advanced techniques. They operate two projectors, so there is always a different image fading in and out on the screen.

The couple, who were both widowers, met through the New Britain Camera Club and have been married for yeas. Marian, a retired social studies teacher, researches the country or location for the couple’s programs and writes and records the narration. Bob, a retired engineer, handles the technical end.

Mr McIlvin’s nature photography has been published in the Audubon Society’s Guide to North American Wildflowers. He has also been honored with membership in the Professional Photographers of America, as well as in the Photographic Society of America.

The program lasts approximately one hour. The public is invited, free of charge. For additional information including directions, call 262-6161.
