Newtown Volunteer Ambulance responded to 40 calls during the period of February 26 through March 3.

Medical calls, 25: Respiratory, 7; cardiac, 6; stroke-related, 2; other seizure, 1; miscellaneous medical, 9. Standby, other: 6. Trauma calls, 9: vehicular, 1; non-vehicular, 8.

Thirty-six persons were transported to the hospital; 4 were not transported.

The ages of those persons: children to age 8, 2; ages 9-12, 5; 22-60, 14; over 60, 19.

Twenty-seven were male; 13 female.

The time of the calls: 1 to 8 am, 4; 8 am to 4 pm, 18; 4 pm to midnight, 18.
