Dan Holmes, of Holmes Fine Gardens in Newtown, and landscape architect Sarah Middeleer will give a free program on gardening with an eye to the future.
âRain Gardens and Green Yardsâ will be offered at C.H. Booth Library on Thursday, March 22, at 7:30 pm.
During their presentation Mr Holmes and Ms Middeleer will discuss rain gardens and buffer plantings and what can be done protect the water supply while providing habitat for wildlife. There are a lot of excellent options for developing an environmentally friendly yard; many are surprisingly easy to do and reap grand rewards.
The presentation is being sponsored by Lillinonah Audubon Society. Reservations are not needed, and refreshments will be provided as well.
