HMA Celebrating 40th Anniversary With Group Exhibition
BRIDGEPORT â Housatonic Museum of Art is presenting âThe 40th Anniversary Exhibition,â a selection of paintings, sculpture, prints and drawings that were created by former professors and students since the opening of Housatonic Community College (HCC) in 1967.
The exhibition will remain on view through Sunday, March 25. Participating artists include Professor Emeritus David Kintzler and the late Burt Chernow, founder of the museum, along with former faculty members Mary Kintzler, Vince Baldassano, Tom Anastasio, Barbara Rothenberg, Alberta Cifolelli, John OâConnor, and Michel Mackey.
In addition, award-winning, independent filmmaker and HCC alumni Sharon Greytak is screening her films. She was at the forefront of writing and directing films that addressed difficult or controversial subjects, such as gay/lesbian themes and overcoming physical disability. Her work has been screened at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City Centre, Georges Pompidou in Paris, and Museum Fine Arts, Boston.
Housatonic Museum of Art, at 900 Lafayette Boulevard, is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm; Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm; and Sunday, noon to 4 pm. Admission is free. For more information, call 203-332-5000.
