JAPAN SOCIETY LECTURE MARCH 26 ADDRESSES ZEN FIGURE PAINTING

NEW YORK CITY — The Japan Society will present a curatorial lecture related to the exhibition, “Awakenings: Zen Figure Painting in Medieval Japan,” on Monday, March 26, at 2 pm at the Seventh Regiment Armory, Park Avenue at 67th Street as part of the International Asian Art Fair.

Yukio Lippit, co-curator and assistant professor of art and art history at Harvard University, explores the history and development of medieval Chan/Zen figure painting through an introduction to some of the most important examples on view in the exhibition.
