Middle School Wizardry
Middle School Wizardry
To the Editor:
As both a parent and educator, I have sincere appreciation for the Newtown Middle School teachers who ensured The Wizard of Oz performance was a success. Their astute ability to âcarry the ballâ when circumstances were not optimum is to be commended. Despite the various stumbling blocks of not having the middle school auditorium to practice and perform in, along with the sudden pushing up of the performance by one week, these teachers showed the highest level of professionalism. Newtown is fortunate to have the leadership of Susan Lang, Jennifer Sinal, Stephanie Glynn, Phil Cruz, Don Ramsey, and Mrs Marty Smith who donated so much of their time for the benefit of our children.
It was refreshing to experience the sense of community where so many people; teachers, staff, parents, and friends pulled together and were able to âmove onâ in spite of the extraneous flaws imposed. I wish to thank the custodial staff at both NMS and Reed School, and to Bob Hendrickson for volunteering his time in providing a sound system. Thank you also to Mrs Sherlock for her support and time in attending the performance.
It is my hope that the fine example of these people will spark others in our community to move in a positive direction, putting children first!
Sincerely,
Diana Fadus-Paproski
