Schmidle Reappointed To State Milk Board
HARTFORD â State Representative Julia Wasserman (R-Newtown) spoke on the House floor this week in favor of the reappointment of Mae S. Schmidle, of Newtown, to serve on the stateâs milk regulation board. The House unanimously approved Ms Schmidleâs nomination March 7.
According to state statutes, the Milk Regulation Board is charged with assuring that state milk products are of standard quality and guaranteeing that residents of Connecticut have an adequate and regular supply of such milk at all times. It adopts regulations that include standards of identity, production, transportation, processing, handling, sampling, examination, grading, and labeling, regarding and sale of milk and milk products.
âI have known Mae Schmidle for more than 35 years and she is a warm, caring, and energetic individual,â said Rep Wasserman, who succeeded Ms Schmidle in the House of Representatives. âShe is a truly effective public servant, who is a genuine âpeople person.â Fortunately, she wants to continue serving on the milk regulation board, and I am pleased her nomination was overwhelmingly supported by my colleagues.â
