Boys 7th
Newtown 53, New Fairfield 24 â David Lucia canned 10 points as Kyle Wilcox and Taylor Steimle dropped in eight points apiece to lead Newtown to the win. Everyone in uniform scored as the locals closed out the regular season at 13-9.
Boys 5th
Newtown 42, Brookfield 21 â Bubba LeBlanc scored 12 points to lead a rout of Brookfield. Mike Davis and Jim Parker played well in the middle as Connor Gallagher played a fine game at the point guard position. Virgil Procaccini and Matt Hoyt made several key defensive plays in helping Newtown pull ahead in the second half.
Ridgefield 39, Newtown 36 â In one of the best games of the year, Newtown overcame an early 10-point deficit with a chance to win late in the fourth quarter. Bubba LeBlanc and Jonah Muniz combined for 10 points while Mike Davis, Drew Tarantino and Chase Wurtz keyed Newtownâs comeback with a strong defensive effort.
Newtown 43, New Fairfield 20 â Newtown used a suffocating defensive effort to seal the victory over New Fairfield. Matt Mossbarger played an outstanding game, dropping in 12 points, as Connor Gallagher scored eight points with several strong drives to the basket. Matt Hoyt and Grant Ricketts played well, hitting a number of jump shots. Jim Parker and Virgil Procaccini had good floor games.

Thunder 60, Hawkeyes 29 â Sean Ross popped in 17 points as Mike Terlaga and Will Arndt tossed in eight points apiece to lead the Thunder to the win. Ross dished off three assists and grabbed nine rebounds as Arndt dished off three assists and brought down nine rebounds. Christian Sayegh was spectacular on defense. For the Hawkeyes, Lewis Thompson scored 11 points and Robert Mascher grabbed eight boards. Rob Uhde sparked the defense with five steals.
Huskies 45, Hurricanes 38 â Tom Capozziello canned 14 points and Mike Lord tossed in nine to lead the Huskies past the Hurricanes. Chris Haylon dished off four assists, Curtis Droniak made five steals and Mac Morlock brought down seven rebounds. For the âCanes, Sean Burson popped in 15 points.
Hawks 50, Hornets 30 â Austin Jones dropped in 17 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished off four assists to lead the Hawks to the win. Trevor Carey added 10 pints as Jack McManus popped in six points and dished off two assists. Kevin Dill grabbed six rebounds. For the Hornets, Nick Hamilton had 16 points while Matt Dos Santos grabbed nine boards.
Rockets 41, Wildcats 38 â Rob Carroll scored 14 points and Brian Reed added 12 more as the Rockets slipped past the Wildcats. Ryan Crowell had a strong defensive game with four blocks while Kevin Dennis grabbed eight rebounds. Mario Pizighelli aided the offense with four assists. For the âCats, Mike LoBosco and Max Brazo combined for 17 points as Derek Krewson dropped in seven points and Eric McCabe ripped down 15 rebounds.
Thrashers 25, Eagles 24 â John Wlasuk popped in eight points and Kevin Phillips grabbed 12 rebounds as the Thrashers clipped the Eagles in a low-scoring affair. Alex Saviano dished off six assists and Jimmy Russo made six steals. For the Eagles, Dan Sclafani scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the way. Michael Zaccaro dropped in six points and Will Northrup grabbed eight boards. Eric Samuelson played well on defense.
Junior Girls
The Rebels 38, Hurricanes 27 â Erin Brown dropped in 14 points, Kaitlyn Vos Winkel made 10 steals and Courtney Amaral grabbed 10 rebounds to lead The Rebels to the win. Audra Sarna notched eight assists. For the âCanes, Katie Lago had seven points.
Huskies 34, Knicks 25 â Colleen Cosgrove and Suzy Wright combined for 10 points and Katie Fossum made eight steals to lead the Huskies past the Knicks. For the Knicks, Breanne Lubinsky popped in 11 points and was strong off the glass. Keri Chernoff made four steals to spark the D.
Da Bears 40, Celtics 17 â Nicole Rotante popped in eight points and Liz Eiseman played well on defense to lead Da Bears. For the Celtics, Maggie Korth and Mara Scallon combined for 17 points as Cady Jackman played well on D.

Quarterfinals
Mercury 32, Jaguars 16 â Courtney Escoda scored eight points and Alex Powell dished off five assists to lead the Mercury to the win. Katherine McManus and Faaria Ansari played well. For the Jags, Jennifer Davies and Melanie Rotante canned four points each as Taylor Brady, Valentina Fena and Kristen DiGirolamo had strong floor games.
Knicks 19, Gaels 4 â Jessica Gibbons and Lia Tassinari combined for 17 points and Elyn Gordon grabbed seven rebounds as the Knicks defeated the Gaels. Courtney Tenney dished off seven assists and Amanda Cirella made five steals. For the Gaels, Amanda Crowell, Kelly OâConnell, Taylor Zingaro and Lauren Sarna had strong floor games.
Vols 19, Liberty 7 â Lindsey Jossick canned 12 points and Rachel Jossick grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Vols to the win. Shana Evanko played solid D. For the Liberty, Natalie Galante and Lindsey Jagoe popped in two points apiece as Galante also grabbed eight rebounds and Jagoe made five steals. Rachel Karnoff was strong off the glass with 10 rebounds.
Lady Hawks 32, Huskies 16 â Hope McMorran scored 12 points and Kelly OâSullivan grabbed six rebounds to lead the Hawks to the win. Caitlin Yakush (five assists) and Anna Northrup (three assists) played well. For the Huskies, Kristy Papaj had 10 points and six rebounds as Tess Kneisel made four steals and Kiersten Lynch grabbed eight rebounds. Rachel Maguire had a strong floor game.
Regular Season
Jaguars 22, Hurricanes 17 â Taylor Brady scored 12 points and Emily Peters grabbed six rebounds to lead the Jags to the win. Olivia Phenix tossed in eight points and Kristen DeGirolamo sparked the D. For the âCanes, Kristiana Engler canned eight points as Lauren Meyer, Nicole Rothenbucher and Bethany DuBois played well.

Knicks 46, Regulators 38 â Alex Arend scored 11 points and Greg Horne added eight to lead the Knicks past the Regulators and into the quarterfinals. Mike Senf, Brian Kruger and Pat Thornberg played well. For the Regulators, Brandon Cooper dropped in 14 points and Nicky Sajovic dished off seven assists to lead the way. Wyatt Depuy and Justin Cherry played well.

Raptors 44, Grizzlies 31 â Phillip Reynolds canned 17 points and Pat Mullins grabbed seven rebounds as the fourth-seeded Raptors advanced to the semi-finals. Jack Champagne dished off five assists and Jeff Hoffman made three steals. For the Grizzlies, Alex Roche popped in 12 points as Christian Mather, Josh Villa and Nick Madden played well.
Gunners 37, Nighthawks 35 â Matt Rahtelli and Eric Fiore tossed in 10 points apiece as the third-seeded Gunners held off a challenge from the sixth-seeded Nighthawks. Justin Germak hit the clutch shot while Thomas Primavera grabbed eight rebounds and Ivan Hutchison dished off five assists. For the âHawks, Michael Scharfenberg canned 14 points as Dan Poeltl and Colton Sposta played well.
Raptors 33, Huskies 19 â Kevin Shpunt scored 10 points as the second-seeded Raptors advanced to the semi-finals. Justin DeVellis, Charlie Helgren and Pat Riccardi played well. For the Huskies, John Lubinsky canned five points as Devin DiNicola, Max Lopez and Colin Moller played well.
Blue Devils 43, Knicks 27 â Sean Elliott poured in 17 points and Reid Schmidt grabbed 14 rebounds as the top-seeded Blue Devils defeated the Knicks. Dean Demers had a solid floor game. For the Knicks, Pat Thornberg scored seven points as Joe Davis, Brian Kruger and Tom Bauer played well.

Notre Dame 30, Nighthawks 22 â Logan Puleri and Grant Larnerd combined for 12 points as Notre Dame slipped past the Nighthawks. Don Sun, Eric Pisani and Matt White played well. For the âHawks, Brian Arnold canned six points as Jon Schwartz, Tom Catalina and Tim Kelly played well.
Cavaliers 37, Mavericks 20 â Matt Lindell canned 10 points and Greg LaRussa grabbed five rebounds to lead the Cavs to the win. Steve Anderau had six assists. For the Mavs, Jordan Sock dropped in eight points as Sean Reilly grabbed seven rebounds. Doug Miller dished off six assists.
Knicks 41, Celtics 25 â Tom Gleason poured in 22 points as the Knicks bopped the Celtics. Jacob Moore, Patrick Afriyie and Justin Weiner played well. For the Celtics, Nick Cagganello scored 11 points while Ryan Rosenberger, Tom Floros and Patrick Pierce had strong floor games.
Runninâ Rebels 28, Huskies 24 â Brendan Peterson scored eight points and Austin Rafferty added six more to lead the Rebels to the win. Alex Romeo, Matt Rosa and Ryan Durr played well. For the Huskies, Matt Wood popped in nine points as Matt Janco, Chris Carroll and Jim Leidlein had solid floor games.
Bantam Boys
Rockets 36, Huskies 12 â Logan Walsh scored 14 points and Brian Rabb added six more to lead the Rockets to the win. Brandon OâSullivan had three assists and Brennan OâSullivan made three steals while Colin Morrissey grabbed four rebounds. For the Huskies, Bobby Archiere and Nick Cirone combined for 10 points while Jared Brady, Connor Ryan and Peter Manfredonia (five rebounds) had strong floor games.
Killer Bees 28, Wildcats 23 â Michael Parker popped in 16 points while Chris Horachuck had a key basket and five rebounds to lead the Bees past the Wildcats. Liam McInerney and Nate Dowd played well. For the âCats, Colin Reilly canned eight points while Patrick Berger had two assists and four steals. Deegan Beuchemin and David Csordas had strong floor games.
Heat 32, Thunder 15 â Joe Santella scored 12 points to lead the Heat to the win. David Matthews, Andrew Pfeiffer and Booby Lydon played well. For the Thunder, Jacob Hill canned eight points as David Corsi played well.
Raptors 32, Knicks 14 â Julian Dunn had 10 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds to lead the Raptors past the Knicks. James Burdette added 10 points while Will Dalton made five steals. James Burdette sparked the D. For the Knicks, Steven Grasso and Zach Weiland tossed in four points apiece with Grasso also grabbing 10 boards. Jacob Burden (five assists) and Devon Palila (seven steals) played well.
Nighthawks 42, Warriors 19 â Jared DeVellis tossed in 11 points to lead the Nighthawks to the win. Jeremy Doski made five steals and Austin Huffman grabbed six rebounds. For the Warriors, Nick Roche canned seven points as Nick Rubino (four assists), Sean McCafferty (three steals) and Zach Aumueller (six rebounds) played well.
Midget Girls
Fighting Irish versus Purple Penguins â Madison Pirone, Molly Begg, Quinn Karp and Abby Kohler sparked the Irish as Jillian Pieretti, Meghan Kelleher, Emma Sheridan and Emily Dirga played well for the Penguins.
Red Panthers versus Eagles â Tegan Doherty, Caitlyn Linden, Kelly Merrick and Allie Indelicato played well for the Panthers while Mallory LoBuglio, Hailey Conrad and Courtney Demeglio anchored the Eagles.
Blue Swish versus Orange Tigers â Lindsay Hoyt, Alana Murray, Kayla DiSibio and Isabel Pryor had strong games for the Swish as Katie Laaksonen, Rachel Williams, Erin Tressler and Anna Buzzanca sparked the Tigers.
Yellow Peeps versus Huskies â Jessica Maturo, Julia Scarangella, Meghan Doyle and Lauren Villamana peaked the Peeps as Josefina Mendez, Amanda Donovan and Nicki Zaccaro sparked the Huskies.
Yellow Peeps versus Fighting Irish â Meghan Doyle, Katie Reilly, Meghan Nahimas and Lauren Villamana played well for the Peeps while Casey Harkins, Claire Boyle, Colleen McCarthy and Celia Gold anchored the Irish.
Huskies versus Tigers â Haley Ryan, Nicole Zaccaro, Amanda Wikramanayaki and Josephine Mendez played well for the Huskies as the Tigers got strong performances from Erin Tressler, Madelaine Strokis, Rachel Williams and Emma Horne.
Panthers versus Blue Swish â Caitlyn Linden, Allison Indelicato, Emily Neave and Lucy Helgren powered the Panthers while Katie Mossbarger, Kayla Disibio, Isabel Pryor and Marina Renzi played well for the Swish.
