9/11 And Politics

To the Editor:

On last night’s news I heard about President Bush’s massive ad campaign, which uses the 9/11 tragedy to promote his bid for reelection. As reported by the Associated Press on February 23, 2003, President Bush said “I have no ambition whatsoever to use this as a political issue. One year later he’s doing exactly that.

Bush’s use of 9/11 imagery cheapens the immeasurable effect that this disaster had on the entire nation. This horrific event that caused so much pain and did so much to bring our country together should never be used for political gain. 

President Bush should be ashamed of himself.
