Free Caregiverâs Course Offered
DANBURY â A four-week Caregiverâs Course for families caring for individuals with Alzheimerâs disease or a related dementia will be held at the new Danbury Senior Center.
The Caregiverâs Course, sponsored by the Alzheimerâs Association, is free and open to the public but registration is required as seating is limited. The first session begins on Tuesday, April 13, from 7 to 9 pm, and will continue at that time on Tuesdays, April 20, April 27, and May 4.
The Caregiverâs Course is designed to enhance both the knowledge and the skills of spouses, adult children, friends, and other family members. Course topics include research updates, communication techniques, managing behavioral challenges, community resources, and much more. Experts in the field of dementia care such as registered nurses, doctors, social workers, and therapists will present the course.
