Keep A Sense Of Humor

In Parenting

The next parenting workshop presented by The Parent Connection and Newtown Youth Services will emphasize the importance of humor in parenting.

The program, “Parenting 101: Tips to Maintain Your Sanity — Despite Your Child,” will be facilitated by Newtown Youth Services’ Life Skills Coordinator Roseanne Loring on Tuesday, March 16, from 7:30 to 9 pm.

The next program, “How Parenting Can Encourage Self-Esteem,” will explore how families can help increase and sustain their children’s self-esteem, especially during the difficult years of adolescence. That workshop will be on Thursday, April 1, from 7:30 to 9 pm. It will be facilitated by Kim Scott, clinical director of Family Counseling Center.

Fee for each workshop is $10 per person, or $15 per couple. Proceeds will benefit The Parent Connection, a grassroots network of local parents and other concerned citizens dedicated to keeping youth drug-free.

Space is limited for both programs, and registration is required. Locations each event will be announced. To register or for more information call NYS at 270-4335.
