Planning To Hunt Turkey? Attend DEP Safety Seminar First

BURLINGTON — Anyone planning to hunt the elusive wild turkey when the season opens this spring should plan to attend a Wild Turkey Hunting Safety Seminar on Sunday, May 2, from 9 am to 1 pm, at the Sessions Woods Conservation Education Center in Burlington.

The center is at 341 Milford Street (Route 69).

The program will include a discussion on the status of the wild turkey population in Connecticut, hunting safety tips, and hunting techniques. Presenters include CE/FS senior instructors Ray Hanley, Dave Sanford and Gary Bennett, along with Mike Gregonis, a DEP wildlife biologist/turkey program.

All are welcome and admission is free.

Call Sessions Woods for registration at 860-675-8130, Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 4 pm.
